Espace Monoprix
The large shopping complex currently occupied by the Monoprix supermarket was the second tranche in the reconstruction of downtown Arles.
Designed by Pierre Vago, perhaps under the direction of architects Jacques Van Migom and Jean
Pélissier and certainly in collaboration with architect Auguste Gibely, the complex was built between 1961 and 1965.
The distinctive curved façade, which follows the outline of Place Lamartine, is a prime example of 1960s commercial architecture.
