PHOTO FOLIO REVIEW 2021
In this unprecedented year when international travel is restricted, the Rencontres d'Arles has chosen to maintain the portfolio readings which are privileged moments of exchange between photographers and professionals. This year, these meetings were exceptionally held online.
During the opening week, 1,264 appointments were made with 140 experts who met 193 photographers of 28 different nationalities.
The 2021 winner is Pierfrancesco Celada with When I feel down I take a train to the Happy Valley.
With more than seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated city in the world; a multicultural environment with a mixed collective memory, an intersection of experiences and a complex sense of belonging. Hong Kong is currently living one of the most delicate moments of its history, facing new growing uncertainties before the “one country, two systems” arrangement will cease to exist in 2046. I moved to Hong Kong in October 2014.
