LIVE MAGAZINE OF THE RENCONTRES
The Rencontres Live Magazine was launched one night in Arles seven years ago. The idea was to create, in the Théâtre Antique, a “99% real” ephemeral experience: a group of photographers, artists, filmmakers, and journalists who would tell with a great deal of trepidation what they could not tell elsewhere, thus founding, for one evening only, a living newspaper. Once again this year, the “pages” will be turned, the “sections” will be covered, and we will move from one subject to another, from an intimate story to a global investigation, celebrating the power of the image.
Also on the program:
Gena Kagermanov
Gena Kagermanov is a Chechnya-born documentary photographer and a writer based in Brussels.
In ‘On War and Other Trivialities’ he documented the daily lives of young people growing up along the former frontline in the Donbas region in Ukraine, before the full-scale Russian invasion would change this region forever.
