In 2004, Yolande Mary co-founded Confluence, an organization that promotes contemporary photography in Nantes.
She was director of the Galerie Confluence from 2004 to 2019. With this experience acquired over the past 18 years, the organization is creating the Claude Cahun Centre for Contemporary Photography in Nantes, where art historian Emilie Houssa joined Ms. Mary as director.
Finnish artist Elina Brotherus is the organization’s honorary president.
The whole team is committed to creating a real meeting place around photography designed for the widest possible audience in order to become a national and international benchmark.
